Professor of Theology Thaddeus Williams notes that “the first time we meet God in the story of Scripture, we meet him as an Artist.” and that “ ‘Created’ is the first verb in the first sentence on the Bible’s first page.” We are made in God’s image, in the image of the great Creator, and we reflect that in our own creativity.
On Friday, April 19th beginning at 7pm we will be gathering together as a community to hear and see and experience the creativity of our siblings in Christ. The evening will consist of a series of acts (music, dance, spoken word, etc..) followed by snacks and beverages in a gallery space of congregation-created visual art.
We will be accepting acts until April 30th (or until we have reached capacity), so if you’d like to perform please contact Vivian at vivian@therez.ca before then. If you have a visual art piece you would like to present, please let Vivian know before the end of April and be prepared to bring the piece into the church building by Sunday May 14th. You will be asked for a title, artist name, and a brief description of the work.
Anyone can submit, so whether you consider yourself a novice or a professional, we want to celebrate what you create.
